“The pandemic hit us hard in March 2020. As the owner of an online jewelry business, I was very worried when I saw our web traffic drop 27% in March and our revenue drop by 17% the same month. Fortunately, we had already started brainstorming how to improve our sales before the pandemic hit. As a result of this new plan, our web traffic and revenues went back to normal by May, thanks to the lockdown and the focus of consumers ordering online.
Despite these challenges we faced, we were able to thrive during this period. We not only survived and maintained our business but raised our revenue by 40% by the end of 2020! Being able to grow in such a condition gave us a lot of confidence despite the actual uncertainty of the pandemic. Now we are going into 2021 with a growth mindset.”

Siblings Dr. Pooneh Ramezani and Dr. Paris Sabo have been focused on health and wellness products since 2015. Their business, Dr. Brite, saw a surge in orders with the launch of their sanitation line during the pandemic. Here’s how there were able to grow their business throughout the remainder of the year.
“We launched our new home sanitation category in March 2020. Previously, we were only selling hand sanitizers and it wasn't our best seller but it was a great product. As a result of the pandemic, we saw sales for these items skyrocket overnight. We then quickly developed complementary products in the same category (alcohol wipes, multipurpose spray) and launched them throughout the year.
In 2020, we grew our business to over 10X the revenue of 2019. We hired over 30 people and expanded our production and shipping department. We ramped up our manufacturing capabilities by 100X and went from 500 online orders per month to over 50,000 orders a month!
The lesson we would like to share with everyone is to take every curveball that comes at you as an opportunity to grow. Act fast and pivot your business to meet the demands.
