For many retailers, 2020 started off as an average year. However, as the months progressed, consumers relied more heavily on eCommerce businesses to meet their needs. As a result, many jewelry and wellness brands saw an explosion in their sales.

“We saw a 40% growth in 2020.” - Vivalatina Jewelry CEO, Nicolas T.

At the start of the pandemic, Vivalatina, like many other online retailers, faced many new challenges. As a result of their quick thinking and resilience, they were able to overcome those obstacles and grow their company. Here’s what Nicolas T. had to say about their journey.

“The pandemic hit us hard in March 2020. As the owner of an online jewelry business, I was very worried when I saw our web traffic drop 27% in March and our revenue drop by 17% the same month. Fortunately, we had already started brainstorming how to improve our sales before the pandemic hit. As a result of this new plan, our web traffic and revenues went back to normal by May, thanks to the lockdown and the focus of consumers ordering online.

Despite these challenges we faced, we were able to thrive during this period. We not only survived and maintained our business but raised our revenue by 40% by the end of 2020! Being able to grow in such a condition gave us a lot of confidence despite the actual uncertainty of the pandemic. Now we are going into 2021 with a growth mindset.”

“2020 was our BEST year of business so far!” - True Warrior Jewelry CEO, Melissa R.

True Warrior Jewelry Founder, Melissa R., experienced many new obstacles in 2020. She dealt with pregnancy difficulties, became a mom during the pandemic, and had to find a way to keep her business thriving. Even still, Melissa was able to defy the odds, reach a new audience, and grow her business.

“When I came home from the hospital and was recovered, I started sharing my story with my Instagram and Facebook followers. I had so many people reach out to me and tell me that they went through similar difficulties, or were grateful for someone to be so open about their story. And then the orders started coming in, more than ever before!

Being quarantined for almost a year also helped me to focus completely on my business and my customers and push harder and farther than ever before. We are happy to report that in 2020 our jewelry has been worn by celebrities, including Lucy Hale and Vanessa Morgan, has been featured in BuzzFeed three times and counting, and has continued to thrive!

My business has helped me support my family and I am so grateful for it. I look forward to continuing to push it as far as it can go and make my and my family’s dreams come true!”

“Almost overnight, we brought our essential product out to the market and sold millions of them on our site.” - Co-Founder of Dr. Brite, Dr. Pooneh Ramezani

Siblings Dr. Pooneh Ramezani and Dr. Paris Sabo have been focused on health and wellness products since 2015. Their business, Dr. Brite, saw a surge in orders with the launch of their sanitation line during the pandemic. Here’s how there were able to grow their business throughout the remainder of the year.

“We launched our new home sanitation category in March 2020. Previously, we were only selling hand sanitizers and it wasn't our best seller but it was a great product. As a result of the pandemic, we saw sales for these items skyrocket overnight. We then quickly developed complementary products in the same category (alcohol wipes, multipurpose spray) and launched them throughout the year.

In 2020, we grew our business to over 10X the revenue of 2019. We hired over 30 people and expanded our production and shipping department. We ramped up our manufacturing capabilities by 100X and went from 500 online orders per month to over 50,000 orders a month!

The lesson we would like to share with everyone is to take every curveball that comes at you as an opportunity to grow. Act fast and pivot your business to meet the demands. Then sit back and enjoy the fruits of your labor. I am proud of our small team and know that this is just the beginning for Dr. Brite and us sisters.”

“We have experienced a significant spike in interest in our hand-crafted copper water bottles and other copper products.” - CEO Copper H20, Jessica R.

Copper H20 is a 100% female-run e-commerce health and wellness business that has been around since 2015. During lockdowns, many consumers began outdoor lifestyles and needed an environmentally friendly brand that could fit that. As a result, Copper H20 saw rapid growth in their online orders.

“Consumers were drawn to the environmental benefits of a reusable water bottle and the naturally anti-bacterial make of our bottles as they looked for solutions for their active lifestyles. As a result, we saw increased interest in our copper bottles and other copper-related products. We know that good hygiene practices and environmentally conscious products have become more important and we look forward to continuing to fill this need for our customers.”

While consumers were on lockdown, they were looking for ways to bring joy home. More customers were giving in to impulse buys and spending thousands of dollars on jewelry pieces. An even larger number of shoppers were looking for healthy alternatives to their everyday items. As a result, these eCommerce industries thrived during 2020.
